Standing for God’s Standards

Scripture:
“When he (the Holy Spirit) comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.” John 16: 8-11

Prayer Points:
• Pray for the Lord to convict all who live in Canada of his righteous standards for living.
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken people to the reality of God’s presence in the world and acknowledge Jesus the Son.
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken people’s conscience to God’s moral standards for society.

Make Disciples

Scripture:

Prayer Points:
• Pray that the Church will get back to the simple command of Jesus for His Church and its members: Make Disciples.

• Pray that the Church will make disciples simply by teaching their people to observe all that Jesus commanded them.

• As we pray, let us thank Jesus for His promise as we make disciples teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded them that He has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age.

• Pray that Canada, a gathering place for nations, will honour God and seek to live righteously
• Pray that we will experience a national revival and that the church will respond to the urgency of the times and pray.
• Pray that we will be a nation that has a heart for evangelism and reaching our neighbours and communities for Christ.

Spilling Out The Love of Jesus

Scripture: "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." John 7:37-38

God can only do thru us, what he has first done in us. The outflow of our lives is in direct proportion to our intake. Effective evangelism is not so much a product of our techniques and programs as it is an overflow of a rich, living and full relationship with Jesus Christ.

Prayer Point:
• Pray that the church in Canada will know, enjoy and contagiously spill out the presence and love of Jesus Christ to those around us.

Dependence on Christ

Scripture: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”. John 15:4-5

Thought: The key to all valid activity is not its effect but its source. If it derives from what we do for Jesus, rather than from what He does through us, it will come to nothing. This is the only way we ‘bear fruit’, whether “the fruit of the spirit” (Gal 5:22), i.e. character, or the fruit of His life being reproduced in others, i.e. evangelism.

Prayer Point:
• Pray that we will live in such dependence upon the indwelling presence of Jesus Christ that His life in us will bear inevitable fruit in drawing others to Himself.

• Pray that true believers will not shrink back from sharing the gospel even though talking about sin causes offence.
• Pray the church will take up its call to show our love for Christ in a way that would cause others to be jealous of what we have in Christ
• Pray that the church will be established by the preaching of God’s word with power love and full conviction.

Thought: May we, as a nation, SEE Jesus, not just passing by, but here dwelling among us. May the way we live and love point Him out and say, "Look, the Lamb of God!"

• As we proclaim His Goodness boldly we pray that many will hear and will understand that Jesus has come for their salvation.

Pray, Go, Share!

In John 4, Jesus is talking to His disciples. In Matthew 9, He is telling His disciples that even though it was December; the harvest was ripe, it was ready for picking – right now. You can’t wait four months – PRAY, GO AND SHARE

Scripture:
• “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:35-38


Prayer Points:
• Ask that God’s people would first PRAY that He would prepare hearts for the seed of His Word.
• Pray for God to raise up workers for the harvest field

Scripture:
• "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” Ephesians 1:15-19

Prayer Points:
• Pray that God would release a Spirit of wisdom and revelation to His church and to the world, that we might know Him better. Pray that the eyes of people’s hearts would be open to see Jesus.
• Pray that God’s people would know the hope of their calling, as ministers of reconciliation and as “living epistles”.
• Pray that the church of Canada would walk in His incomparably great power, being strengthened in our inner man by His Spirit, pursuing the lost with His passion.

The Road to Home

Scripture:
“A river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowed from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life…the leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations” Rev 22:1,2 NLT

To effectively draw others to join us on this “Highway to Heaven” (Isa 35:8-10), we must dance, worship, and play together as God’s children in the River so that the water of life within is pure and joyful (John 4:7-14) causing the thirsty to come and drink freely (Rev 21:6). The more we soak in God’s Presence and become more intimate with our Bridegroom-King, the more of Christ’s nature we have to pour out onto others turning sorrow to joy, despair to hope, stress to peace, sickness to health.

• Pray for the Nations’ Gatekeepers, the First Peoples ( www.actsnewsnetwork.com)
• Pray for the Mi’kmaq to experience revival so that they may open the Eastern gates for the Glory of God to come in like a tidal wave

• Pray that we as believers would have a fresh revelation of the power of God’s word as it is released from our mouths in prayer.

Prayer Points:
• Pray for a commitment to embrace the effect of Jesus’ prayer, that we become so one with Christ and God that the outflow is Spirit-directed, prayer-saturated, love-embracing unity among believers that astonishes both the believers and the world.

• Pray that our churches pray this reality into place and learn to expect this in their decision-making, their caring, and their outreach ministries.

• Pray that seekers on the edge of the friend-networks of those churches see the unity, the power of God’s grace at work among us, and so come to faith in Christ.

• Pray that the churches filled with this unity/love learn how to care for the new believers.

Scripture:
Luke 11: 9-10 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Thought: Could it be that we do not have because we do not ask and expect (John 16:24)? Jesus invites us to pray with expectancy. Imagine what will happen in Canada when we all pray with this kind of faith!

• Ask: Who do you want to see come to Christ?
• Seek: What do you want to believe can happen to the spiritual climate in Canada?
• Knock: What doors of opportunity do you want to see opened for your church’s effectiveness in evangelism?

Thought: Considering that God paid the highest price possible by sacrificing His son, evangelism and outreach is most important to Him.

• Let us pray that it will be that important to us. Jesus came primarily for that high purpose - “to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Matthew 18:11)

• Pray that Canadians Christians will have a deeper passion to be engaged in the word of God and prayer.

• Pray that Canadian Christians will live their lives according to Biblical principles and by so doing be a consistent witness to others of the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Teach Us to Love

Scripture: "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged." 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Prayer Points:
• Lord, teach us to love you the way you love us.

• Lord, teach us to love others the way we love ourselves.

• Lord, teach us to love the lost so that in us they will see Jesus.

• Lord, use us to grow the Body of Christ to be strong and united in a way that would bring honour and glory to your name.

Light of the World

Scripture: “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Prayer Points:
• Ask the Lord to examine your walk by shining His ‘light’ on your life
and to reveal anything that hinders your witness for Him in the marketplace.
• Seek to encourage others to follow Jesus, not at a distance, but intimately and passionately as one who abides in Christ while ‘working’ in the world.
